Biofeedback Headache Management Program
_________________________________________________________________________
Bellevue Redmond Physical Therapy Center uses a musculoskeletal approach to headache management. While demonstrating tension level awareness, we teach you how to control and reduce your stress levels and pain on a voluntary basis.
Biofeedback EMG and temperature training are the primary modalities used in this program. We include relaxation training and stress management for long-term pain relief.
Initial treatment may include electroacuscope for headache pain relief. This is a painless, needle-less, non-invasive electrical stimulation of acupuncture points.
We have excellent results with tension or muscle contraction headaches, and significant improvement with migraine headaches using this physician-directed program. Biofeedback training has been found useful also in the treatment of stress management, colitis, anxiety attacks, hyperventilation and other stress-induced disabilities.
● 8 - 12 sessions are the usual course of treatment. The emphasis of this program is
on home assignments that are therapist-directed and designed to develop personal
resources.
● Most insurance companies cover the cost of this program.
● Our therapists are licensed in the state of Washington and are active members of the
Washington State Physical Therapy Association.
Discuss your symptoms or needs with your physician, then call for an appointment. Take the right steps to relieve your stress.

Are Orthotics for You?

______________________________________________________________________
Why Orthotics?
Custom foot orthotics are designed and manufactured to align the bones and muscles in your feet, as well as help your feet work effectively with your legs and back. The materials used and components needed to help correct your condition are selected after a biomechanical examination.
The Benefits:
If your feet don't work right, you hurt all over. In some cases, your feet are compensating for other needs your body can't meet. Your body is constantly breaking down as it adapts to stress. Your age and repair ability also determine if or when you will feel pain. Symptoms can begin suddenly or progress more subtly until structural changes become disabling enough to seek medical attention.
Orothotics can speed the healing process and prevent breakdowns that lead to discomfort and pain. Together with an exercise program, they can help you compensate more effectively for structural deficits and thereby improve performance. Orthotics are simply an investment in speeding recovery and preventing breakdowns.
The Process:
Once it has been determined by your doctor and/or physical therapist (PT) that you will need orthotics, you will be scheduled for a one-hour visit with your PT to do a biomechanical evaluation. You will need to bring shorts and the shoes that you will be wearing the majority of the time. After the evaluation, your PT will form casts around your feet that will be used to mold your orthotics.
It takes about two weeks for your orthotics to be made; then, you will be asked to schedule another one-hour visit, to fit your orthotics. Once again, you must bring the shoes that you will be wearing with your orthotics.
A third visit is usually scheduled to check your orthotics and make any adjustments on them, after you have had a chance to wear them for a week or two.
Who's Covered?
Most insurance plans cover orthotics, with a doctor's referral. See your doctor for a prescription. We will be happy to verify that your insurance plan will cover orthotics.
